Agnes is an entertainer, a public servant, and a community leader par excellence. A woman of vision, integrity & humility, she recognizes the true worth of being a community leader, which helps the community.
Agnes was born in the Philippines and in 1976, she migrated to California to obtain her education at the University of Southern California as an International Student, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, minor in accounting, then took her master’s degree in Gemology at Gemological Institute of America to help her family jewelry business in the Philippines. She is happily married to a U.S. Army Veteran Jack Gonzalez for 43 wonderful years and has lived in the City of Walnut since 1985.
She is now appointed a School Board of Education Member at Rowland Unified School District in March 2021 right after she retired after 30 years at Nogales High School in December 2020. She continued this challenge, a longtime dream of hers to make a difference in the life of students, an educator, and respective endeavors.
She wears many hats and always engaged in civic organizations in California to name a few: Hermosa Bataan Association as President in 1998-1999; Board of Director of ICAM-USA; St Lorenzo Ruiz Music Ministry in Walnut; member of dance group Vessels of Mary and Hollywood Dance Moms.
She has earned awards as 100 Outstanding Filipino American 2017, Mrs. Philippines USA World 2018 and Executive Council appointed by Senate President Vic Sotto III. Simplistic as it may be this core value is at the center of her volunteer work.
She was featured at Weekend Balita in March 2021 as the first Pinay appointed at the Rowland Unified School District in the 60 years district history. On November 2022 election, she ran unopposed as a School Board Member.
This year she will receive three awards as the 2024 Pioneering Leadership Award by Amerika Prestige Awards, Legacy Impact Award by Amerika Music Awards and Outstanding Leadership Award by Women of Worth Awards.
Agnes believes that God always watches over her and that doing honorable deeds will never be unnoticed. She shares this outstanding honor with all those who taught her to sail in this journey called LOVE & SHARING.
